We’re now in our second week here in India and ministry is moving at full force. I just wanted to share one of many stories of how God is working not only in India but in our own walks as well. I was going to share my testimony one night and was feeling really torn whether I should share my testimony or a story from the Bible. The village we were visiting that night was at a children’s home. I didn’t want my testimony to re-open wounds that these kids might be healing from and cause more harm than good. As I was contemplating and praying about what to share I just felt the Lord put it on my heart to go ahead and share my testimony. So I ended up sharing that night. After we were all done and the service was over I had a 9 year old boy come up to me. He explained that he also had never met his father and that his mom and sister were not Christians. The next part is what blew my mind. He asked if I would pray with him for his mom and sister to become Christians as well. I was absolutely blown away by his spiritual boldness of coming to church service without family, then by being that engaged to connect with my story, and again by his spiritual maturity and compassion for his lost family to approach me and ask for that specific prayer. It’s amazing to think that we’re here to share the love of Christ to these people (which we are) but I never expected for them to change my life in the way they have. Their love for Jesus is truly inspirational.
Even though we’ve only been here for two weeks, I’ve felt more spiritual growth in this time than I have in the five years I’ve been a believer. One of the biggest things I’ve learned about myself so far is that, when you let the Lord to work in you, it’s amazing the things He can do through you. For example, I trusted that the Lord wanted me to share my story and through that He created an opportunity for me to pray with a boy that had such similar life experiences.
