The Gospel is the Good News!

God is Real! There is a creator; and He’s not just a loving god, He is Love. He made everyone and everything. In fact, he made people after His own image. And He Loves us. He’s absolutely wild about us.

God is Real, but so is the devil. The devil hates God, and he doesn’t want us to experience His Love. He does everything in His power to tempt us to give up God’s love for a lie. This is sin, when we trade a beautiful gift that God has given us, for a shadow of that glory.

God gave us a beautiful gift, allowing us to choose Him or sin, and we are all guilty of choosing sin. There are no perfect people, not a single one (Romans 3:23). The price of sin is death, which is the separation from God an his Love (Romans 6:23).

God knew that we would not be strong enough to resist sin, and God is Just. Sin has a price and that price needs to be paid. He loves us so much, that He doesn’t want us to pay that price. He doesn’t want to be separated from us. The creator of this universe wants to Love us with everything He is. And so He paid the price for us. He sent his Son Jesus into the world to live a perfect life and die for us, taking our sin with Him (John 3:16). Jesus is God in the flesh. He’s both fully God and fully human. He died when He was crucified on a cross, and He is risen. He lives today!

Jesus really loves us. “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38).”

There is absolutely nothing that we can do to earn God’s love. He sent Jesus to die for us, so that we could have it as a free gift. We are saved by his mercy and grace alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). All we have to do is accept it! The good news is that Jesus paid the price, and “if you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). Jesus came so that we may live life to the fullest (John 10:10).

Someday, we will die, but when we do we will be reunited with Jesus in Heaven. In Heaven, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain…” (Revelations 21:4). Instead, we will live with God in perfect peace and love forever.

This is really important!!

A relationship with Jesus is much more than “being saved”. It is much more than “escaping the flames of Hell”. Through His death, Jesus restored our relationship with God. As followers, we get see glimpses of His Kingdom today. We experience fullness and healing today. And one day, His Kingdom will be completely established and there be perfect intimacy between us and God. Until then, I rejoice that I experience his Love today.
