After an enormous sigh I
realize I am home… It is bitter sweet to have the comforts back in my
life. I became so accustomed to living
in a small sauna like cabin that it feels weird to have a soft bed. I grew so accustomed to eating whatever was
put before me that I struggle to decide what to eat. I grew so familiar with the community that we
developed that it feels foreign to be in my community.
Through all of the culture
shock, and assimilation back into life I refuse to go back to normal or
ordinary. I chose to be wrecked for the
ordinary, to choose life rather than death, and blessing over curses. I have decided and I have resolved that I will
not be silent. I will not wait for
things to go my way. God has given us
the ability to chose, to create, to ignite life with an eternal flame. I am choosing to burn in the fire of the Holy
Spirit.
John answered them all, “I baptize you with
water. But one more powerful than I will come, the thongs of whose sandals I am
not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
I am choosing the baptism of fire for my life. This fire is all consuming though. It burns all our flesh, our decisions, our
plans, and our hopes and takes us to a place where our hope is in nothing other
than Jesus! I am choosing devotion to
God over all that the world has to offer.
I prefer Jesus over, money, promotions, fame, acceptance, or anything
else. I commit to God, myself, my wife,
and each of you that I will be more in love with Jesus when we meet again than I
am today. I vow that I will allow God to
stretch me beyond measure. I guarantee that when you see me again you will
know that it is not I but Christ in me.
The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because
the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to
bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom
for the captives and
release from darkness for the prisoners,
May our hearts burn for the world as God’s heart burns the world!
