As my time here in Belize is coming to a close, I just want to take the time to reflect on some of my favorite moments from these last 3ish weeks here in Independence, Belize:

10. Officially landing in Belize to begin this World Race journey

9.  Being greeted at the airport by our hosts with a sign that said “Welcome Team Surrendered” as I have never had a airport greeting like that before.

8. Working with the youth of the church & fitting a total number of 8 marshmallows in my mouth while playing “Chubby Bunny”

7. Swimming in the Caribbean Sea, and crossing that off my bucket list

6. Playing basketball with the local teens, and showing them that “white people” can indeed jump- I heard a guy yell this at me right before I shot & nailed a turnaround jumper, and ball out with them

5.  Getting my first marriage proposal from a man twice my age (Sorry but I signed a contract to be single for the next year)

4. Getting to live in community for the first time in years, and realizing that it’s not as bad as I had envisioned it to be.

3. Becoming friends with so many of the locals & getting to experience a taste of Mayan culture too.

2. Hearing the rest of my teammates incredible testimonies to their faith, and just how God has worked in their lives or led them back to him.  I encourage them to post the videos of them giving their testimonies as I feel like their stories can reach out to so many people.  As well as giving my own testimony as well.

1. Finally feeling a sense of peace that I have never felt before in the last 6 years as I was always on “American time, and never really had a chance to slow down to enjoy life aka “Belizian Time” like I am here and hopefully beyond.

Total side note: I am still not a fan of feedback time during time, but maybe it’ll grow on me (we’ll see)

Sorry for the low number of blogs that I have written this month as I am literally living the “Life is Ministry, Ministry is Life” life since we are both living/serving at our ministry site, but it has been such an awesome experience, and I wouldn’t trade this month for anything in the world (Well maybe a chance to see some Mayan ruins, hahaha)

Til next time your fellow sister in Christ,

Bonnie
