Squad Wars
What is squad wars you might ask? Well let me tell you about how it all went down as a scrappy group of young adults from all over the country came together & beat the 2 other squads when no one gave us a chance after the virtual portion of squad wars.
Squad wars consisted of 2 parts: A bunch of virtual challenges the 2 months leading up to training camp & live action games on the last full day of training camp.
With the virtual challenges P squad took 1st place in only one of them & ended up last in the rest so as it turns out we came to camp dead last with little hope of overtaking the other 2 bigger squads compared to us.
Here’s where it gets interesting:
Here we are marching into battle as the Freedom Fighters preparing for battle against N & O squads all decked out in our green (which by the way killed me to wear that color, but it did it for the squad) & our warpaint.
We faced our foes on the field of battle for our first event: The Dance Off
We placed 2nd out of the 3 squads. Good start but we knew we still had a lot of ground to make up if we wanted to have bragging rights. (if you want to see the video of our dance go check out my youtube channel: TechieHistorian)
Next was the game called David & Goliath which was a game that we sent 2 brave souls into the battle arena to face combat with a pair of the other teams. one had a egg tied to her head while her partner was armed solely with a swim noodle and the point was to break the other teams egg before the broke yours while remaining linked together by the arms, and it was a winner take all match. Let’s just say that P Squad came out victorious in that matchup as well which it helped the fact that we literally had a Goalith on our squad.
Now we could officially say that we were on the comeback trail as winning that game put us closer to the second place squad.
The 3rd game was an all squad game meaning that the whole squad took part in it, and let’s just say that was when my competitive side really started to come out.
The game was called Mario Kart, and every person had to tie a ballon onto their ankle & come together in an arena and the point was to try to break the all the other squads balloons before they broke all of yours. We teamed up with the Blue squad to gang up on the Red squad for they were the overall leaders, and we wanted them out first. The alliance was very sucessfull as we achieved our mission before turning on each other in a grange match, and let’s just say that if someone is trying to kick me I will kick back at them with a little bit of force then I want too.
In the end P squad came out with the victory once again and it moved us into second place.
4th game: Dodgeball
This was the one that I took part in as it was only 20 members per squad to compete. P Squad took second. I sucked at it.
5th game: Leapfrog on a Cloud
This game is pretty much 16 members playing leapfrog then diving their face into a bowl of flour to grab a marshmallow with their mouth then running back to drop it in a bowl before tagging the next person.
This was the clincher for is for we finished 1st in this game & sealed our fate as Squad wars Champions.
From Worst to First= SQUAD WARS CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!
