So about a week after training camp, one of our squad coaches presented my squad with this assignment/challenge on our squad’s facebook page:

“Good Morning P Squad

As your coaches, we have an assignment/challenge for each of you.  This can be completed any time between now and launch, but I want ALL of us to do this.   I want us to find PURPOSE in the “P” in P-squad…….so this what we’ll do

Choose a word that begins with P that has meaning for you that you will pursue diligently during these 11 months and back it up with scripture!!! I want you to declare the end from the beginning (Do not duplicate read each others post and find your own.  Including mine, there should be at least 41 P words and posts on here.”

Me: Ok challenge accepted

Also me: what in the heck am I gonna pick for my P word?

To be honest, I was worried that I couldn’t come up with a P word that fit me that also hadn’t been taken in a fair amount of time as I had no clue where to even begin.  So I did the one thing that I’ve learned to do in this kind of situation: Go to God and ask him for guidance during my time with him, and I did just that & the word that God showed me was:

Protection

Huh?

So I google the definition of protection, and according to Webster:

Protection (noun)

1. The action of protecting someone or something, or the state of being protected

2.  A person or thing that prevents someone or something from suffering harm or injury.

When I started to read these definitions, I soon realized that this word truly does fit me as I have often said that when it comes to my friends & family I will fiercely protect them with my life.

So here is my reasoning that I picked this word as my word for the year that I posted to facebook:

“I firmly believe that no matter where I go or what I do, God will always be there to provide his guidance & protection over me.  I have personally experience his protection in so many ways throughout my own life.  I believe that he will protect those that I love while I am gone on the World Race in order to put my mind at ease so that I can focus on the true mission at hand, which is to serve his people in his name.

I also feel like he has called me to be the protector of my teammates /squadmates while we are out in the field together as I’ve said before I have a tendency to protect the ones that I love & I would defend them with my life.”

Bible verses to back up my word:

Pretty much anything in both the books of Psalms & Proverbs

Deu 31:7

Nahum 1:7

Isaiah 46:4 & 1:17

1 Cor. 10:13

Til next time your fellow sister in Christ,

Bonnie

Psalms 18:2
