We made it to Cambodia! We are working at Teen Challenge this month. We were told we would be in Phnom Penh this month, but we are pretty much in the middle of nowhere. The adventure starts! This will probably be the only blog you get from me until the end of our time here in Cambodia. We made a special trip into town to let our friends and family know we were safe, and to not expect to hear from us for a while. Our first night at training camp, we were talked to about laying our expectations down. We gave them over to God. Let’s be honest, easier said than done. It’s hard to go into a place with no expectations. We were told we were going to be in the city. Teen Challenge brings a certain expectation. We are excited to see what God does with where we are this month. It is just team Xstream together this month. We are all sleeping in one room under two mosquito nets. We plan to make a ‘Cribs” video of our place so you can look forward to that at the end of the month. We knew that as far as accommodations went, we had hit the jackpot last month. Welcome to the World Race! The people here are super hospitable and ready to serve us. They are taking good care of us. They are so thankful that we are here to help them. They are letting us borrow pillows, and mosquito nets because our packs haven’t made it here yet. We aren’t completely sure of what we will be doing yet. The one thing we do know is we will be teaching some English classes at the church. The Teen Challenge program has 18 guys in it right now. They have a curriculum of Bible, English and computer classes. I also may get to teach volleyball. The director gets back Monday, and we get started! I want to ask you for prayers. Pray that we again would lay our expectations down. Pray that we can be God’s hands and feet. Pray for open eyes, ears and hearts to what God is going to do. Pray for team unity. Pray for deeper relationships to form with God and each other. Pray that we don’t get sick! Thank you in advance for your prayers….and I hope you will look forward to hearing about what God did this month.
