10 Reasons to be thankful Tanzania Edition

1.    Fruit – Most of this trip, fruit has been easily accessible but I feel like this month, we were able to enjoy it more than we have in other months. Every meal consisted of cucumber, avocado, pears, bananas and pineapple.

2.    GLEE – The other team we were with this month, had 2nd season episodes of GLEE and we were able to watch it on a real tv instead of our laptops. It was glorious!

      3.    Girls – The other team we were with this month is an all girls team. I love my boys for sure, but it was nice to have more girls around to share clothes with and stuff!

4.    Joyce – Joyce was our saving grace this month. She was our translator and became a really good friend. There were a few miscommunications with our contact and Joyce always came to our rescue!

5.    Lessons learned – I know that throughout this year, that I am learning lessons that I may not even realize that I am learning until years down the road. I know God was trying to teach me a lot this month…and to be honest I still don’t know exactly what those lessons are. I do know that God is sovereign and that he has a purpose for everything…and I am thankful that I have at least learned that lesson!

6.    Fabric – I have collected fabric from each country that we’ve been to and plan to make a quilt when I get home. Fabric was so easy to find and pretty cheap…I got a little carried away and bought like 7 different prints!!

7.    Pedicures – I think my mom had judged me a little bit because I have gotten more pedicures than she has gotten since I left home…but it cost me $1! I got the Tanzania flag.

8.    Unity – I’m not gonna lie, it was kind of a hard month…the good news is it brought our team closer than ever! We were able to lean on and encourage each other in new ways! I’m am so incredibly thankful for this team that God put together for such a time as this.

9.    Beautiful children – We got to go to a few schools this month, and it has only strengthened my desire to adopt a baby from Africa. These children are gorgeous, have the best smiles and are constantly full of joy. I love them all!

10. R Squad is Fully Funded – Thanks to all of your donations and pledges…everyone on my squad has the money to stick around the rest of the race! What an amazing testimony to God’s provision!
