First off before I get into what this blog post is about, I have a super exciting announcement!

Because of all of you that have prayed for me and gave to me financially, I have officially made it past my $10,000 deadline that is due in like 2 days! I want to say thank you so much for everything and all of your support! We got a little over $4,000 just this month alone! You all have blown me away and I couldn’t be more grateful!!

That being said, I still have about $4,500 left to raise for my entire trip to be funded.

I am selling t-shirts and still have about 50 shirts left! If you would like one or five you can contact me at (806)224-5474! I would love to get rid of these before I leave for India in 2 weeks!

Also, 2 weeks away from heading to Launch!!

Okay, now to Celebration Day, even though this was for sure a celebration already!

My super close friend group wanted to do something for a “Last Hoorah” before my girlfriend, Alexis, went off to college and I left for the World Race. So we put our brains together and decided on this: (Before I start explaining, I need to give Hannah Franklin the credit of being the “Mastermind” behind all of this.)

We devoted a whole day (it literally lasted about 21 hours) to celebrating all of the holidays we were going to miss with each other for the next 10 months. I am going to go into a little more details about what we did as well as post some embarrassing pictures of us! Before getting into that, let me introduce you to the characters of the story…

From left to right:

Myself, Hannah, Janae, Alexis, Cesiley, Theo, and Trevor.

So we all loaded up in my mom’s pathfinder about 7:30am and went to Pancake House to eat breakfast. Trevor was a little late because he got called into work for a meeting but he arrived just in time for the food. The day didn’t start out too well because it was raining and kind of ruined some plans, but we didn’t let that ruin the whole day.

After breakfast we headed over to Walmart for birthdays. We had names in a bag and we each reached into the bag and grabbed a name. Whoever’s name we grabbed was the person we had to get a gift for. Now because we are teenagers, we are all ballin’ on a budget so we limited it to $10 and you had 15 minutes to get a gift, checkout, and be at the front of the store. After our 15 minutes, we headed over to the nearest Taco Bell to exchange gifts. It was nice because we were the only ones in there and none of our gifts were serious gifts so it looked kind of strange, but that is perfectly okay because we are a pretty strange group. So we made a rule, whatever gift you got you had to put on for a picture in Taco Bell. Here is how it ended up…

Trevor with a tight dress, myself with a yellow bow and a hula thing, Janae with a dragon onesie, Cesiley with a Spider man mask, Theo with a stuffed snake, Alexis had some weird leggings and a balloon, and Hannah had on a funky oversized tank top!

After birthday presents, we went to Theo’s house to write valentines day cards. Hannah had made some cards shaped into hearts and got us some brown bags to decorate along with some sharpies in advance. That didn’t take too long, so after that we went to the park by Theo’s house and had an Easter Egg Hunt. The guys hid for the girls and vise versa. There was 40 eggs and whoever found them the fastest won! Here is a little glimpse of what that looked like…

So the girls ended up winning because the guys got a little annoyed because the girls hid them across the whole park and we didn’t feel like going around the whole park. Trevor then had to go to work for a few hours cause his work is lame.

After Easter we decided we were starving so we went to Taco Villa and had Thanksgiving dinner/Cinco De Mayo. Instead of turkey and dressing we had tacos and burritos!

So a few of us decided we needed to get a nap in, we headed back to Theo’s house and took a nap/watched Charlie St. Cloud (no, the guys did not pick this).

After a nice nap, which was very refreshing, we went to Good Will and had Halloween! We picked out names again and then we had to pick out clothes for the person we drew, which was our costumes… it was very interesting.

After Halloween, we went to dollar general and picked names again. This time we had 6 minutes and 5$ for a gag gift for Christmas. We then dropped the girls off so they could get ready for dinner and us guys got dinner prepared. Theo had a rodeo to go to that night so he was done for the day.

After an hour or so, I went to pick up the girls for dinner. When I got there, I blindfolded them so they didn’t know where we were going. They got all dressed up and so did we. So the whole car ride they were trying to guess where we were going and it was pretty funny. While this was going on, Trevor was picking up dinner and going to the place we were having it. So they had no idea where we were going or what we were eating.

We arrived at Market Street and made a HUGE scene in front of all of the shoppers and completely embarrassed ourselves, but that is okay because it was so fun. Trevor and I had a nice table cloth and candles and fancy plates. Imagine this scene in a shopping center, it was super funny.

The girls also brought a birthday cake for dinner as well, which was super good! Here are a few more pictures of Christmas dinner/birthday cake.

After our lovely dinner of Chikfila, we went to a park and exchanged Christmas gifts as well as tried to play with some sparklers and confetti cannons for New Years, but the mosquitos were so bad that it didn’t last very long.

The night was over for Cesiley and Janae because they were tired and were longing for slumber, but the night had just started for the rest of us. (yes, I did say slumber).

Trevor, Alexis, Hannah and I went back to Hannah’s house and got changed into some more comfortable clothes and then went hammocking for a couple hours. It was very relaxing and felt really nice, we even put on mosquito spray but still got eaten up a bit. So we packed up and went to Whataburger.

So we thought the night was over, but I had a great idea to shoot a music video. All of my great and crazy ideas come out after midnight. We drove around till we found some good lighting, which ended up being in a BodyWorks parking lot. Here is our karaoke version of “Poker Face” by Lady Gaga.

Twas a good day and a day I will never forget. Thank you to all my friends for making it a great day and I love y’all so much!
