Good Morning Monday!

It’s currently 8:15 in the morning. I came to work early today so I can leave early to make an appointment I made later this afternoon. I started my day in the Word today! It’s honestly been awhile since I’ve read my Bible first thing in the morning, but hey today’s a new day and I get to start with a new slate everyday! I wanted to share with you what I read in the Gospel of Luke.

I am always amazed by how Mary, the mother of Jesus first heard and accepted the news about becoming the mother of God. Reading the first chapter of Luke, we hear about the angel Gabriel appearing to Mary. Probably before he even said anything, I’m sure Mary was bewildered by his presence, but according to Luke she did not fear him. She was just troubled by what he had to say. If I were Mary… It would’ve taken me a minute to process that an angelic being was talking to me in the first place. Mary wasn’t even worried about that, she was just “greatly troubled” by what he had to say. After Gabriel told Mary the role that the Lord has planned for her, her answer was simple but astonishing. “I am the Lord’s servant…may your word to me be fulfilled” (Luke 1:38). What an excellent example of being obedient! She was so young, still a virgin and was all of the sudden told that she was about to be pregnant before being married to her fiance Joseph by the Spirit of God. Not only is she to impregnated by the Holy Spirit, but she was to give birth to the Son of God!? Can you imagine being told that?

This is my prayer for the church. That we would respond to God like Mary. Regardless of how crazy a certain situation may present itself to be (like going on the world race), that we would believe how great of God he is and is able to do whatever he pleases with his people in order to bring glory to Him!

Have a blessed day!
