Last Summer during a small mission trip in Mexico that I was on with my church,  I fell in love with serving people.  At that time I  felt like God had put longer term missional work on my heart.  However, I didn’t know how to begin, because I want to attend and graduate from college.   As I visited colleges to attend in the fall of 2018 I was feeling excited to be a freshman and live on my own.  But even  though I was excited; through prayer I wasn’t feeling very led or sure about what college to attend.  Then I was shown the World Race Gap Year program, and instantly felt guidance and assurance about where to go next Fall.  I believe God often calls us to get uncomfortable and follow Him, despite what’s “normal”, or “safe”.  So, next September I will be taking a first step towards missional work by doing the route 4 gap year race, where I will travel through Guatemala, Thailand, Malaysia, and Swaziland for nine months, spreading God’s love and serving people in every way that I am able to.

James 1:27    “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this : to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
