There's always been a question I have been asking myself for a long time.
What do men really act like?
This is some of thoughts the world gives us about men: Making tons of money
Being tough all the time aka being macho
Having the best job
Having a big house
Owning many vehicles
Getting as many women as we can for our personal glory
Drinking equals a fun life
Have sex with many women because sex feels good and there's no commitment
Being emotional equals weakness
Having deep conversations with men are weird
This is a short list of what a real man should act according to the world.
This month for me has been a great experience and challenging at the same time. For this month this is MANistry month where I am doing missions with 12 mighty warriors of M-squad! Here's what MANistry is all men and no women for a month! All the women are together this month no men. Most men including times in my own life have depended on affirmation from women.
So this month we are are together as men and we are doing some crazy things!!
We are doing things most men won't do when they are together. One of the things we do as part of the World Race culture is feedback. Feedback is a process where we call out greatness to one another and if we need to grow in areas in our life we call each other out or up to grow more through Christ. This process can be rough at times because your being called out for the way you're not being like Christ at the moment but the good news is we as men are calling us up into the great men we are intended of being in Christ.
To be real I have received more constructive feedback then I bargained for this month in Manistry. At times this has been rough but I am getting better on the race about taking constructive feedback or what the world calls constructive criticism. The Lord is allowing this in my life to reconstruct and refine who I am as a man so I can be the man God intends me of being not only for my good but for down the road as a husband and as a father to my kids one day. Plus the 11 men on my squad love me for who I am to call me up and to push me to my potential to be the best Blake I can be for Christ! These men are my brothers and are legit!
Real men also talk about their feelings and emotions with one another. We have been doing a ton of this in our team time so we can grow as Men of God together! We are 12 mighty warriors for Christ fighting for one another!
We are not Men, We are Men who are Crazy! Crazy for Jesus!
We are men who go out during the day and do manual labor for Remember Nhu After work we go and play with children kind of like a husband comes home from work and then takes care of the kids when he is tired. Then we have team time and feedback. Long days but rewarding in the end. We are crazy Men! Going against the world to be the best men we can be for Christ!
