This week I am in Granda, Nicaragua for debrief with my squad! We been able to spend one on one time with our squad leaders and coaches! Been able to spend plenty of time with our squad mates having awesome spiritual growth, bonding, and fellowship with on another! The last 3 days have been intense but have been filled with redemption and healing for our squad!! Worship time has been about sharing about our dark secrets which have held us from being the sons and daughters in Christ we are meant to be in His Glory!
One by One we stood in the middle of the room at our hostel during worship and shared our deep and dark secrets with one another. I was scared to be honest even though no one thought I was scared to share my past with 60 people and many of them were my sisters in Christ. God said to me it's okay your redeemed Blake in me go ahead and let this out!
So I shared about my past and this wasn't pretty but so good in the end where I felt peace in God! No one judged me or condemned me for my past instead they loved me as Christ! Here's another thing about the story! God wanted me to close my eyes during my time to share in the circle. I was like what!! Really! I went with this! God gave me the words to say and with no looking around to see who was looking at me, smiling, or laughing so I could have just God and I time! Sometimes I do like crowd reaction so I can see the approval and feed off the energy so I can feel good about what I said to people! It's not about others Blake! It's all about Jesus!
Our whole squad shared about their past ranging from low self-worth, comparing to others, unworthiness, to masterbation, pornography, lust, having multiple sex partners, and abortion. After three days of sharing we are redeemed by Christ and the chains are broken! We are the Mighty Misfits for Jesus!! Go M-squad but most importantly we are Mighty as one united body of brothers and sisters for Jesus!
