A couple of days ago, I said some of my last goodbyes to friends and co-workers down in Charlotte, NC for the second time in two years. To be open, honest, and real with everyone, don’t really cry but someone did tell me at work, “Blake you look really tired.” I said to them, I been saying goodbye to people for the last two weeks and tonight I have said so many goodbyes it is wearing me out. It’s so good to have others who care about me so much it’s great on one hand, but on the other hand goodbyes really suck to be honest.
In the Bible, God gives us a reminder in Ecclesiates 3:1 about seasons saying, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” This has been a good reminder for me because God uses this verse to tell us everything in life is for a time and a season. Another way of putting goodbyes is goodbye is really not saying goodbye but it’s saying see you later! In many ways this is right especially if your a believer in Jesus Christ. Even if we don’t see some of our friends again until heaven we will see the person again.
My awesome Small Group from Elevation Church Charlotte, NC going to a concert! Said see you later!
Goodbye at Work in Charlotte, NC on September 8, 2014. Had a good seven months at work said goodbye!
In every season God wants us to commit to His plans and stay faithful to the plans He has for us. Our plans maybe good, but God ALWAYS has the best plans for us!!
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” Proverbs 16:3
Give to God 100 percent in all and He will be the bricklayer and establish the plans one step at a time in His timing. Easier said than done.
I don’t know what God has for this next season down in Georgia and Guatemala, but I do know if I stay on the Lord’s course and not get off the path everything will be awesome!
