God has choosen me to go on The World Race and be a missionary to reach the world for Jesus. This opportunity is so AWESOME! but Why did God choose me even when I am so unworthy to do this for Him? This question is still in my head every now and then. The reasons why this question comes in my head at times is because of some of the things I have gone through and some of the weaknessess I have in my life.
This is how I would describe this person named Blake Meehan:
- 5'11" male who is 27 and is about 170 lbs.
- I have smaller hands then most guys
- There is always someone in a group bigger, faster, stronger, handsomer (if that's a word) then Blake is in a group
- Has a great heart for people
- Wants to see others succeed in life to fufill God's plan in their lives!
- Likes community and values relationships with people around him seriously!
- Has a crazy, goofy childlike faith for Jesus!!
- Likes to run for fun!
- Likes Coffee!
- Bold about his faith in Jesus!
- Likes to read and writing blogs
- Likes wearing Hats (I have probably around 40 Hats)
- A Faithful Servant for Jesus!
This is some of the weaknesses of Blake Meehan:
-
I have to admit there are times I get so passionate about my friends succeeding in their lives and being involved with my life that sometimes I can be jerk at times (Yes, this guy even has a mean streak every now and then)
- I am a hardheaded person at times
- For some of you this may shock you, but at times I do cuss. Peter was a disciple of Jesus and I do believe at times he said a cussword or two also, yet he was one of the most influental disciples in the Bible.
- I overanalyze things and at times the worst enemy in my life is myself.
-
I do not use big words to explain my points when talking to people I say what's on my mind. Sometimes having foot in your mouth disease can get yourself in trouble.
Some of the weakness above about myself has me question at times Why did God choose me to be invovlved in His calling for a greater purpose? Peter in the Bible cut a person's ear off for no reason! Jesus told Him put that sword away!! Peter also denied Jesus three times before the rooster crowed! He said I don't even know what the crap your talking about to the woman who asked Peter do you know Jesus? This guy litterally has a quick mouth and a person who clearly doesn't think before he acts and Jesus choose him to be one of 12 disciples to reach the world for Jesus. I guess I must be in pretty good company with Peter then in Jesus' book! God can choose anyone to be a servant for Jesus despite of what your past is or the weaknesses you have in your life. Romans 3:23-24 (NIV84) says, " For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." Jesus died on the cross over 2,000 years ago to pay the penalty for our sins so that we do not have to face eternal judgment in Hell for our sins. All you have to do is come back to Jesus even if you have ran away from Him in the past. Jesus is there with open arms ready for you to come to Him and use you despite of your weaknesses. By this blog Blake Meehan is a hardheaded, overpassionate, overanalyzer who cusses at times out of frustration. That's not a good picture but Jesus looks at Blake Meehan something like this: Blake is a child of Jesus who I am going to use for great things for my kingdom. I am going to take his overpassionate side of Him and use Him to build relationships with people to show the love of Jesus with others who I put in his life. I am going to use you to encourage the weak!! Jesus takes the weaknesses you have and makes them into strengths to help others see the light of Jesus in your life! Now that's AWESOME!
One final thing I have been listening lately to the Casting Crowns song In Me from the album Lifesong. This song is about God choosing you in spite of your weaknesses. Take a listen to the song this will encourage you! God Bless! Peace! Blake signing off till next time!
