So, here I am..my first blog post. As some of you know, I’ve announced that I recently got accepted into the World Race! Which is really exciting for me.
So what is the World Race? It’s a Christian Ministry where I’ll be leaving in September to go away for nine months to live in three countries that are very different from America. I’ll be abandoning all of my worldly possessions and stepping out of my comfort zone to help the people in other countries that are in need; with ANY task they need help with. The countries I’ll be heading to are Guatemala, Ethiopia, and Thailand. I’ll get to really experience the raw beauty and cultures of each country, which is so fascinating to me. My goal in life, whatever I do, is to travel and help out people in any way possible. Right now I feel like this is a perfect opportunity because I can reach a fulfillment of my dream to travel, and everything I’ll be doing in duration of the nine months will be through the love of God.
How did I reach the decision of doing this journey for NINE MONTHS!? Crazy, I know right? Well I thought about doing the 2-3 month route and once I saw the option for the Gap Year (the nine months) I found that my heart was telling me to run to it’s calling. My original plan was to go to straight to college after I graduated High School, however after my small group leader told me how her friend was doing the World Race, a seed was planted and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. A gap year is a perfect opportunity to allow me to fulfill my dreams and jump into college when I get home in Summer 2020.
I’m going to need A LOT of help, support and also donation along the way to reach this journey. For donations, any amount could help me out in huge ways! My ideas to help myself reach the funding goal for my trip are selling my jewelry, making T-shirts, babysitting, picking up extra shifts at my job and etc.
Lastly I would like to thank my first donor, Stephanie Bell and her family, who have already helped me start the process with a generous donation. I’d also like to thank whoever took the time to read my first blog, much appreciated!
Thank You, Blaize 🙂
