SEASON 2 EP 1- I N T E R U P T E D

In Matthew 6: 1-4 it says “don’t seek praise for the righteous acts you do God already has rewarded you.” One part about those few verses that I really like is “don’t let your left hand see what your right hand is doing.” I don’t know about you but to me that makes me think before I go to others and tell them how good of a person I am because I just have a homeless man and apple and granola bar. Yeah sure that’s nice and all but I don’t need people to tell me I’m a good person because I decided to obey what God told me to do in the first place. Also God likes to reward you in private, not everyone needs to know about the good thing you just did.

I’m not saying don’t tell anyone, but humble yourself and say “that was very nice of me and I feel great but I’m not going to tell everyone I know.” God already knew what we were going to do before the thought even occurred to us. Jeremiah 29:11 “for I know the plans I have for you declares the lord…” This is my favorite verse because you can use it for any life situation. Really think about it our Father in Heaven is declaring that he has these little blessings to someone else already planned out. He already planned that you were going to make someone’s day. No righteous deed goes left with a reward. So if that reward isn’t instant then be patient because he has plans to prosper and not to harm you.

The best part about doing good things for others is you can plant seeds in them. Even something as small as leading them in prayer. All you have to say is “hey I’d like to pray for you is that okay?” This is one of my favorite things because if this person doesn’t know Jesus then you’re showing them by walking like him. People walk by this person everyday and may not show the love of Jesus. By you being interruptible and stopping what ever you’re doing you are planting a seed. Jesus was interruptible. I’m just putting that out there. In Matthew 9:18-26

a ruler comes up to Jesus and says “please help me my daughter is sick and she is dying” so Jesus take his disciples and goes to the girl. A woman in the crowd who had been bleeding for 12 years touches a fringe of his clothes, Jesus turns around and says “who touched me.” Really Jesus? You’re the son of God walking through hundreds of people, everyone is touching you dude. Record Scratch! Is it okay to call Jesus “dude?” I’m going to have to pray about that one. Anyway, every one is probably touching you and this woman believed “if I could just touch him then I’ll be healed.” So Jesus says “take heart daughter your faith has made you well” and she was. Then he instantly goes back to going to heal the little girl who was sick. He gets there and says “she is not dead she is sleeping” and he takes her hand and she gets up. I’m sorry but if God is interruptible, then we should be too. We have no excuse. At all. We were not put on this Earth to work our lives away and become robots. “If I’m late my boss is going to yell at me.” That’s not why we’re here! We are here to serve our King in Heaven and walk in HIS footsteps. Be interruptible. I would rather meet Jesus at the gates of Heaven itself before I’d ever catch myself becoming a slave to to this Earth. I am running to the father and I’m done with the hiding. I won’t sugarcoat anything anymore either, I am being real and raw with all of you.

Part of doing good things for others is being interruptible. Jesus would stop what he was doing an infinite amount of times to help us. You’re never too busy to serve the Lord, there I said it. There are so many ways that you can walk in discipleship with the Lord. Get creative He loves that. Things I do are pray with the person, If I have food I give it to them, I also pray as I’m walking past the person, and I write my favorite verses and leave it for random people when I’m out. You are more than welcome to use any of those things! Find something that makes you feel great about serving the Lord and planting a seed in the person or people you see. The Fathers arms are open wide.
