With all that is going on in the world today, we start to believe or question where God is at. I have believed it too, however what we need to understand and remember is the context that this information is coming from. The news is on 24/7 and that is not how it used to be, we have all these social media platforms that are promoting all the evil happening in the world, making it seem like God is not present at all. These platforms are constantly highlighting all the bad to get the attention of the population. You always hear, ” Its never been this bad” well in fact it has been back in the 60’s and 70’s. For example, The cold war: America was on the brink of being in a nuclear war but you know what: the news turned off at night and they handled the situation like it should have been. The Kennedy’s prayed before they went into the meeting with the Russian ambassador because this was it.  My point is the problems haven’t escalated, the context in which we view them has. We all need to pray before we post about an event. Let the investigators do their jobs and figure out what truly happened and what did not. It is the constant media influence that is making these problems more of an issue and a dividing a nation and world. This is the devils work, trying to get into the minds of believers and break them from GOD.

What we need to do is stand together and bring Gods love and peace. We need to seek him and diminish the US and Them mentality and division. Love and seek out the police officers, families of loved ones lost, do whatever you can do to show Christ’s love. We are all Gods Children and there should not be a major divide. With all the media and hate, we are driven by fear, lots and lots of fear. The good news is that one of the most used phrases in the bible is ” DO NOT BE AFRAID!” God obviously knows more about fear than we do as a human race. We cannot hold on to fear and harbor it, we need to close the US and them mentality and do what God is asking us to do and that is love on people. We cannot be afraid of an upcoming election, another shooting or anything else that is going to be on your news feed today. We need to come together as a church family and love until we are blue in the face! Elijah’s response to Elisha’s question ” what do we do? was ” Do not be afraid. Sometimes what we shouldn’t do is more powerful than what we should do. We need to open our eyes to the other side and hear people out to fully understand what is going on.

God is and always will be present, even in the midst of valleys, storms and mountain tops. We just need to trust in HIM and come along side him to provide that love and understanding to become one and break that divide! We are overwhelmed but we are not outnumbered!
