“They just want sex”

“I’m too old, they don’t want me.”

“I have three boyfriends, one treats me good but the other two not good.”

“I make 50,000 BHT for one month, and we go boom boom but I can work in the bars making 300/night. He is okay with that, because he goes with my friends and its okay.”

“I don’t like my job, they don’t want to talk, they just want to sex me.”

“They don’t listen to me.”

“I drink all day and I can’t sleep.”

“My son ask me not to drink, he’s 10.”

“No, I don’t love him, and he doesn’t love me, we friends that go boom boom.”

These are just a few of the comments girls made when I talked to them in the bars. The reality of their situation is heartbreaking. The reality is that it’s become their reality. This is their life, and they have settled for a life below their calling and purpose. They are devalued, disrespected and denied true love. They choose it because they think it’s going to bring them happiness. They stay in it, because of the money, not because they love it.

It’s no way to live. Hoping someone will buy them, then maybe, just maybe they would fall in love with one of the men. He will rescue her out of the bar and give her the life she has always dreamed. The bars have become the answer, the hope and way out of poverty. What I have seen first hand is that the bars bring confusion, hopelessness and spiritual poverty. I can’t rescue everyone, heal all the brokenness but I know who can.  Precious Jesus!!!

If God can change my heart and life, then that’s proof he’s in the business of redemption and I have confidence that real freedom is coming to the bars here. What’s happened in me is that Jesus has purified me, set me free and set me apart. I may encounter darkness and perversity, but I know who I serve. I know that the life I’m living is fulfilling and I’m in the center of God’s will. These women are desperate for Jesus, and so are the men, they just don’t know it yet, so they go to the bars looking for the answer, love and hope. I just ask for more faith to believe that anything is possible in these bars. My prayer is keep purifying me, and bring me to the dark places so you may be glorified and people may see that Jesus loves them. I speak life now!!!

Women won’t pursue men, they will run into the arms of Jesus.

The men will honor women and respect them because they love Jesus.

Money and alcohol are not the answer to the emptiness in their souls, its Jesus.

They are desired, loved and protected by Jesus.

There is nothing that can separate them from the love of Jesus.

They are beautiful because they are made in the image of God.

They have a purpose, a calling and a place in the kingdom of God.

The truth is that they need Jesus.

The reality is that no sin is too much for Jesus.

The reality is that shame has no power when we look at Jesus.

The reality is that the broken can find healing in Jesus.

The reality is that each one matters to Jesus.
