More freedom today! More freedom for me and more freedom for her. I knew today was going to be the day of change and I was ready for it.

I’m supposed to meet with Eunice at 4 pm to go find a place to get my henna done. She meets me at 4:30, and we talk about where to go and figure out we don’t know of a place. That sends us on a wild goose chase, and me approaching people and asking “excuse me, do you know of a place where I can get henna done?”

We didn’t find someone on the streets, and I mentioned we need to find an indian person because  they would probably know. We walked down a street with many shops and Eunice stepped in to talk to someone she knew. I asked a guy inside the store if he knew of a place or person that did henna.  He said yes, and I was stoked. He told us he would take us there, and we followed him. As we were talking, I asked him his name, and it was Abbas. He asked me why we were here, and for how long. He asked for my number and I said no, but I’ll tell you about Jesus. So I started to share the gospel with him. I told him how Jesus had transformed my life, and how he loves Abbas so much!!!

Abbas took us to a house where he knew of a woman that did henna. We entered the home and for whatever reason everything was hilarious. I basically had a laughing attack in this woman’s house and couldn’t stop making people laugh. Abbas, Eunice, Joseph and Martha were all there and we loving life. I couldn’t have had a better adventure to get my henna done. We negotiated with the women there and picked our designs. The whole time I’m praying for Eunice and for God to open her heart to receive him. As I was getting my henna done in a muslim woman’s house, I shared the gospel with Eunice. I shared parts of my testimony that were extremely powerful and I asked her if she wanted to accept Jesus. I told her my story.  I told her I was once a slave to sin and that God had set me free. I told her he was loving her and wanting to come into her heart. He chose you, now you choose him. Do you want to leave your life of sin?  She said yes, and I told her that if she confesses with her mouth and believes in her heart that Jesus will save her. We prayed together right there in the house as my henna dried. I love how Jesus shows up in the most unlikely of places. We laughed, talked and I told her to speak truth over her life. Who are you? I asked her and she didn’t know what to say at first.  I told her, you are his princess, you are forgiven, you are new, you are free.

I felt led to take communion with her, so we took communion with the banana bread I had in my bag. We both know that she is changed and we didn’t want to forget that moment.  Eunice is a new creation!

Her smile tells it all.

Eunice came home that day, and I’ll never forget it as long as I live. God was again redeeming me through redeeming others. That next day she came to church, heard me preach and spent the afternoon eating, talking about our faith and laughing. She is connected with a church and new friends but keep her in your prayers.
