Goodbye Thailand..and maybe me?!?

“Man”isty month has come to an end…it’s sad but I hold the belief that change is good and helps us to grow.  I must say though I am going to miss the work… cutting down and harvesting the tapioca field, chain saws, cutting trees down, building fences, building paths for the princess of Thailand to walk on….
did it mention that we got to see the princess our last day?  She flew in on a helicopter and then spent about 2 hours walking around the school where we helped fix it up for her to come.  It was cool.  We got to learn the proper way of sitting (with both your feet behind you –because showing your feet is very insulting in this culture), and the proper greeting for a princess.  No pictures where allowed so I don’t have anything to show you …but it was a great experience.

Ministry was so much different here in Thailand than any other place we had gone yet.  Just about all we did was in simply serving the people.  At first it felt like we really weren’t doing much but I came to realize that the demonstration of our love towards them was much greater than any amount of words we could speak.  It amazing but so many people here have not even heard the message of Jesus Christ.  Our interpreter, whose name was Big, told us his story of growing up Buddhist and never knowing anything about Christ until late in college.  That was so odd for me to hear because I am used to people at least knowing something but he had never heard ANYTHING of the gospel before.  It goes to show how much this nation needs people to come and share Christ with them, and that’s what we did…maybe not so much through our words but through our lives.  By our service our contacts here at YWAM continue to build strong relationships with the people and that opens the door for them to share the gospel with them.

I was a great month of building relationships…with the men on my squad and with those in the community.  We did a lot of hard work but we also had a lot of fun doing it.

I leave tomorrow morning to take a 10-12 hour bus ride to Cambodia.  I am loving life.  Thank you for all your support and prayers.

Please consider helping me with my support as my final deadline is in 18 days and I still need to raise $3,555 otherwise I will be sent home.  Also, my other teammates could really use your help.  Thank you all in advance!!
