Meet our Pastor
What a man of God.  He carries such a gentle spirit but also a passion for helping the poor there and bringing them Jesus.  He started the school where we taught English and travels extensively throughout the village to teach English as teaching is the doorway to relationship and eventually the gospel.  He took amazing care of us.  If you are looking for someone to support this is the right guy.

Where we stayed and ate
We all slept in the church sanctuary, all seven us in our own little tents (tents because of the 20 million mosquitos always flying around you).  We ate all our meals at the pastors house and let me say straight up…BEST food on the World Race!!

Teaching English every day
Our main ministry was teaching English to about 150 students throughout each day.  For some children this is the only education they will ever receive as so many are forced to start working early to help provide for the family.  Pastor has made is as affordable as he can ($1 a month) but some can’t even afford that so he hope to make it free.

Working the rice fields
Rice fields are much of what the people here use as their income.  The fields are everywhere and they are beautiful but as beautiful as they are its still sad because this is the only thing so many of these people know.  The poverty is extremely bad here and the problem is that many don’t even make enough money to support their family.  Our heart is to not only come and share Christ but to show Christ.  I loved getting out there.

Repairing a home in the "Jesus Village"
So our pastor has a small plot of land that he uses to help house people who can’t afford a home.  We were repairing the walls on this house so that an old woman, who is a widow and has no one to help her, could move in.  What an honor.

Nursing in the Jesus Village
While we were still in the Jesus Village I had the opportunity to fix up a man’s finger that injured it while cutting down the palm tree branches we use in repairing the walls on the homes

Feeding the families at the church
An awesome day of ministry was when we got to give away $500 worth of food after one of my team members felt God’s leading to give.  We did a little worship, preaching, and then gave away a tone of food.  What a great day.

The brick kiln workers
This is such a sad story because these people are basically slaves.  What do I mean by this?  They are paid so little that they have to take loans from their employer for their families basic needs.  After that the cycle never stops.  Their children are unable to go to school because they are basically forced to start working to help the family.  They work from sun up till sun down making bricks all day.  We had the chance to talk share Christ with them and also help them by giving them some food.  Showing the love of Christ, the best we are able, through words and actions.

Washing heads for lice
After an incredibly bumpy hour plus ride, on a pot hole ridden road to a remote village, we taught a round of English and then washed the children’s hair for lice.  I have never seen lice this bad.  I remember washing one girls hair that had more than a dozen eggs on just one hair, it was almost like that back of her head was just covered with lice eggs.

(Lillie and Rebecca working that magic)

Visiting the poor
In the Buddhist religion they believe in having “spirit houses” for the wondering spirits.  One thing I observed is that you can tell how poor they are by how nice their “spirit house” is.  This widow was born and raised in this home.  She is now alone and outside of the occasional help she receives from her daughter she has to take care of herself.  We were later able to give her some food during the church feeding

Angkor Wat
Had a day off and got to see Angkor Wat.  I think the picture speaks for it self
