Hello to all of my wonderful supporters! (There are a TON of you, and for that I am truly thankful!) Thanks to everyone who has supported me in any way shape or form in my preparation for The World Race! (My launch date is now October of 2008)
I wanted to give everyone a detailed update on my support status and the needs that still exist.
As of today I have raised a total of $5,100 in cash and pledges. (PRAISE JESUS!) However, that means I STILL need to raise $8900 before I leave for The World Race. This is just the actual support I need to go on The World Race which covers travel expenses, food, lodging, and debrief costs. Other things I need include:
- vaccinations-there are several (2nd Hepititis A shot, Malaria pills, Polio booster, Tetanus booster, Yellow Fever, Thyphoid, and maybe even Encephalitis.)
- airfare from my home in WV to whichever airport AIM decides to have our team meet at (our support raising does not include our ticket to our meeting place, or our ticket home.)
- airfare home once I return to the US in August of 2009
- Visas-not all countries require VISAS to enter, so it will depend on where we end up going.
- I am also in need of some random gear type stuff that I will be needing-During the World Race we will be backpacking, and often sleeping in tents when necessary. I already have had a TON of gear donated which is a HUGE blessing- (including my pack, a nice brand new 2 person tent, a synthetic 20 degree sleeping bag, in addition to some other random stuff, like, an L.E.D. headlamp, a water filtration device that filters out all the microorganisms in your water) BUT I am still in need of a few things: a special duffel bag that fits over my pack protecting it during air travel (an essential because otherwise all of the straps on my pack will get caught in the conveyor belts at the airport, causing it to rip), compression/dry sacks to compress everything and keep it dry, good rain gear, and a good pair of hiking shoes.
- visits to an eye doctor and dentist before leaving for my trip
Please be in prayer over these things and my upcoming trip. I would even go so far as to encourage you to pray about supporting me through monthly pledges, donating $50, $100, or whatever you are able to pledge. Again, I praise the Lord Jesus for each and everyone of you, for this would not be possible without your support and continued prayers! The Lord is calling me out to full time missions for a year, but it is YOU, my wonderful support base, that is SENDING me out! By sending me out, you are a integral part of God’s plan to share HIS love and mercy with a lost and dying world!
