“Here I am, send me”. Five simple words that have little meaning separately yet when put together and spoken to our Heavenly Creator cause a great revolution from within. That’s exactly what happened to me.

While in college I felt the calling to the mission field. This calling was later confirmed by the Lord through a dream and my parents. After graduating college I took a teaching position to help children of the special needs population.

This year marks my seventh year in the teacheing field. I have had a blast working and loving on precious angels from the Lord. These years have definately prepared me for what is ahead of me. I enjoy working with children…so much so that I am the Director for the Children's Church Ministry at my home church, have directed Vacation Bible School for several summers. One learns so much from chlildren, "for theirs is the kingdom od Heaven".

Since being in college I’ve been involved in several short terms mission trips mainly to Mexico. This past summer I took another short term missions trip to Guatemala. During this trip the Lord reminded me of the calling He has placed in my life. I came back home not being able to ignore that “tugging” I felt from the Lord. I could not ignore it. I soon signed up for another short term mission’s trip; this time to Haiti.

This past year has definitely been a year where the Lord has “stretched me”. Before heading to Haiti I found myself applying for the World Race. I sought prayer from my parents, pastors, and close friends. I soon realized that the “tugging” I felt was the Lord calling me to GO to the nations and preach the Gospel!

The Lord heard my sincere prayer, “Here I am, send me”. He opened this amazing door to go to 11 different countries in 11 months! Sounds crazy to some! Yup, even to me at times! But I serve a God who continually rocks my world! And writes and amazing life story that has Heaven’s Author’s fingerprints all over it. May He remain the main character and receive all glory and honor!

Beginning this July of this year to June of next year, my feet will step the soil of Romania, Bulgaria, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Guatemala. My hands will be His hands and voice His voice. I will leave the comfort of my home to share Christ with the nations! Embark on this journey with me!  Most importantly I ask of your prayers for me to fulfill the purpose to which God has called me to go for 11 months, beginning in July. Also prayerfully consider financially supporting me to go. You may do so my clicking on the “Support me” link on the left hand column.

May the Lord bless you!

His,
Betty Gómez
