Several weeks ago I read an amazing book callled "Greater" by Pastor Steven Furtick. As many of you know, I love listening Pastor Steven and his first book "Sun Stand Still" is one of the best books I've ever read. In fact, I think I've read it at least 5 times. In the last chapter of "Greater", Pastor Steven talks about striking the water in whatever situation you are currently in ( which references when Elisha struck the Jordan River with his cloak).
As soon as I read this passage I felt that there was at least one person that I needed to share this with! The entire book really resonated with me and I hope that God will speak to you through it as well!
"I pray that you will never settle for the "good enough" of killing time and drawing a paycheck. Clocking in and clocking out. If God is calling you to step into something new, I pray that He will give you the faith to do so. If God is calling you to step up in the job you already have, I pray that He will give you the passion to do so. Either way, I pray that you will step into the greater life of influence that God has called you to within your work. I pray that your profession will turn into your pulpit, your sport coat become your cloak, your office become a santuary, your work become your worship. I pray that, instead of fantasizing about somebody eles's lfie, you will pursue God's greater life for you."
