My favorite thing to say is "it's almost time" but now it really is.
I have had such a wonderful experience in D.C. so far and am so glad that I made the decision to come a few days early! I flew in on Friday night and spent saturday and sunday exploring the city with a few of my O squad teammates. We had the most amazing time visiting museums, walking around the city, and spending time just getting to know one another. The weekend was exactly what I needed to prepare myself for the race and Christine Perry and her family were so kind and welcoming the entire weekend. I know that none of us really wanted our time with them to end!
Today was our first official day of launch with the entire squad and now that we are all together it seems like just yesterday that we all said goodbye after a week of training camp in White, Georgia in October. We have been going through training since Monday and still have a couple of days left this week. We also received some amazing news that we are welcoming a new member to team GPS. I love Alex and I know that she will be the perfect addition to our existing team. Our first stop on the race will be Honduras and we will be leaving bright and early on Friday morning. I guess we'll see what's in store!
YEAH!
