Nepal has been life changing to say the least. Man, am I humbled by this community. We have had the privilege to walk alongside New Jerusalem church, and our contact Grace over the month of November. When we first arrived in Nepal, we were greeted by the Gandharba men. They took The Sisterhood to our new home for the month. Which we coined the “Purple Palace.” We were greeted by many new family members. I have stated in a previous blog that this month we have been staying with a Hindu family.  I decided early on that this family would be my ministry.

That I would love them. That I would pour into them the truth of Jesus. That I would invited Jesus into this space with us.

Graces’ sister in law had expressed to us her desire for her family to find and know Jesus. I pray for their family quite often. Their youngest son has been a little brother to me, I have enjoyed going for walks, talking to him about school, and everyday subjects of a 9 year old boy.

Several days ago, he and I  walked down the street together. I saw he had written something on his hand in blue ink. I asked him what he had written and he whispered “Jesus.”

“He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:2-3

This faith in his world full of idols and false Gods: is inspiring. This is child like faith to write in blue ink “Jesus”

We sat down on the ground together of the Purple Palace. I asked him if he had any questions about the name “Jesus” he had written in blue ink.

He asked me questions like “When was Jesus born?” “What does the cross mean?” “What holidays do Christians celebrate?”

I answered his questions in the simplest language for a 9-year-old to understand.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” John 3:16-18

I asked him if he wanted to accept Jesus he had written in blue ink into his heart as his savior.

A simple nod of his head, we held hands, closed our eyes: We started praying.

I prayed for Jesus to take territory in his life and his heart. I prayed for Jesus to show up in his life. I prayed for his child like faith to continue growing.

 This child like faith: inspiring.

How brave is he for asking me these questions?

“But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Luke 18:16

I encourage you to come to the cross like our brother, with a childlike wonderment. I encourage you to  always seek more of the Lord.

My little brother did not come to me because of what I know. He came to me because of who Jesus is.
