You know in the movies, when the main character almost looses someone? And then they realize how much they actually love that person? And how special that person is to them? And how anything that that person ever did to hurt them or offend them is tossed out the window because they almost lost them?
Well I got a glimpse of that this past week. One of the teams on my squad got into a very bad car accident here in Africa. And I have some extremely close friends on that team. And it was super hard news to swallow at first. I literally felt my heart sink into my stomach. It reminded me of a situation that happened in my life years ago when I was 16. And it was a horrible feeling of deja vu.
But amidst the tears, I remember one of my friends on that team told me to SING. And so I started singing. I sang down healing from heaven, and worshiped God for his sovereignty and heart of love for every single one of the team members.
God truly did a miracle. The entire team is fine!!! If you saw pictures from the wreck you would understand even more of how it was a miracle. NO internal bleeding, and only one broken arm, which is set in a cast and on it’s way to healing. My GOD is a healer! And a miracle worker! He does the IMPOSSIBLE!
But it also has me thinking this thanksgiving, more than ever before, have you made amends with people that have hurt you, or that you have hurt? Maybe it’s a family member, a former friend. And especially, have you made peace with God??
It’s not worth hating people, or holding grudges, or the jealousy, or the gossip…it’s just not worth it! Life is but a vapor. We can be here one day and gone the next! And no earthly temporary possession is worth the loss of your eternal soul!
Thank God for every day, because it truly is a gift. Live it not for your own pleasure, but for Him and for serving others. Tell the people you love, that you love them. No one knows what tomorrow holds.
This thanksgiving my heart is truly overflowing with thanksgiving for His perfect, and loving hands that work for the best, for those who would put their trust in Him. (Romans 8:28)
I”m so thankful that my life is in the hands of a God who is so gracious, merciful, loving, a healer, and who does the IMPOSSIBLE!
I made this video sometime last week. It’s a bit scatterbrained, silly, and corny but it’s who I am
=)
May your thanksgiivng be full of joy, and love. Count your blessings, don’t ever let the phrase “I love you” leave your vocabulary.
