and into the hands of love..
The name of a song I started to write today…
So many times we think that loving someone means we have to hold on to them. Be there to try to protect them from making any more mistakes, from falling further into pain. We beg, and plead. and nag, and try to make them realize what we can see, what they are missing out on, how there is a greener side…but
I’m not a savior.
There is only One.
I’m not a restorer.
There is only One
When we come to the realization that we have done all that is humanly possible, and finally decide to take our hands off the situation, and leave it in the hands of Hope, Change, and Life…then ..and only then… do we leave room for the miraculous to happen.
Switchfoot has a new song whose lyrics ask “Do you love me enough to let me go?”
Though it is extremely painful…The answer is…. Yes, I do.. into the hands of God.
It was His perfect love that changed me, and that rescued me.
It is His perfect love that loved, and will continue to love a broken people, and return us to our true purpose…Him
