If you are wondering about whether or not I made it to the Domincan Republic safely.. <this blog shows that I at least made it with my arms and head straight =)

Our whole squad got here safely and soundly, a bit sticky and cramped (in a cheese bus), but the wind was blowing and we got to see the beautiful ocean on one side of the road, and then on the other.. a not so beautiful view. Broken down houses, garbage on the streets, and not too many ¨pretty¨sights.
I actually recorded all of this beauty and brokeness, but unfortunately I won´t be able to post it, because on my way here to the internet cafe… my camera got swiped from me by some guy on a moped…
My first reaction, as you can guess was a mix between wanting to cry and wanting to chase him down and wrestle him for it (mopeds aren´t really that fast here).. and even still before I knew it.. all I had left of my camera was the strap it was hanging from around my wrist.
It´s broad daylight here, I wasn´t by myself.. I was just an innocent victim…
But this is what I wonder…
What if that man is a victim too. A victim of sin, a victim of greed, a victim of a corrupt government, or what about a victim of our selfish American attitude??
That man is going to sell that camera.. for what? I don´t know… But he was in such a desperate state that in order for him to survive, he had  to succumb to robbing another innocent..
When will this cycle of greed end? Can it ever?
I don´t wonder about one thing.. One thing I know…
If that man knew the life changing love of Jesus, he would not have done that. To truly know Jesus, is to love others, honor others, consider others as better than ourselves…
And I forgive that man. I pray for that man. I will never forget his eyes. His eyes with a malicious intent, but with a hopeless answer to questions in his life… He needs hope.. we all need hope.. and that hope is Jesus…
That I will never stop telling others about.
Some of my squad will be going to Haiti next week, and the other will stay in D.R. I´m not sure which I´ll be at for the month of July.. but I´ll keep you all updated
Love you all dearly. Till next blog
