Where do you end up? Mzuzu, Malawi!
My team and Team Haven are partnering together this month to serve a church in a village near the city of Mizuzu, Malawi. Our contac is absolutley PRECIOUS and has been such a blessing to us in just the past 5 hours since we’ve been here.
Internet access is slow and not immediately available. SO i will try to blog as much as I can.
I have never, and probably will not experience a travel experience like I did this past week. The African bus was my home for about 86 hours. Ate in it, slept in it, laughed in it, was drenched in sweat in it, felt like crying in it, sang in it, went to the bathroom in it, and bonded with people in it.
I have always been known to be pretty independent, and I dont mind doing things alone. But this past travel week showed me how important community is. If it wasn’t for the people that God gave me to talk to, laugh with and share stories with, I probably would not have made it as sanely and soundly as I did.
Made me realize that who you travel with is a HUGE part of how you react to different scenarios. I had some pretty amazing travel friends this week. And have been encouraged and strengthened because of them.
We are all traveling in this life. Who are you traveling with? Are they people that are making the travel lighter, or making it heavier. Are the cracking jokes about heat exhaustion at 3:00a.m. or are they complaining about eating pb and j sandwiches for four days in a row? (yes, those might be world race scenarios, but you know what I mean)
Who are your travel buddies in this life? Are you choosing them wisely? Are you traveling alone? God deisgned us for relationship..with Him.. adn with others.. Pray for amazing life travel partners. He will bring them.. and if your honest with yourself, He’ll also show you the ones that you need to say bye to, in order to go down the BEST pathway for your life.
