Here is my photo recap of my team’s month in Thailand, where we were able to work with YWAM Khon Kaen and share God’s love all over through drama productions; check it out!
Well to start, we spent our first three days at the YWAM National Headquarters where we had rest as well as orientation in Bangkok.
Once in Khon Kaen, our first day of ministry included us going to a rehab facility and from there we were able to develop beautiful relationships with the guys there and eventually 11 of the men there came to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior!
Our one ministry that did not involve drama productions was working at an orphanage where we did manual labor each day, helping prepare their property for an expansion.
As you can see, my team was working with another team this month—Ahava—and we celebrated Savannah’s birthday from my team and David’s birthday from Ahava’s team!
We also were blessed to be able to share a Christmas meal together before going out to a surrounding district, Chum Phae, in order to do outreach on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!
On Christmas Eve we went to Chum Phae and were given the opportunity to witness and be a part of a Christmas celebration that was happening at a fish market!
Then on Christmas Day we were given the wonderful opportunity to do a drama production at a Buddhist school where quite a few of us were given the privilege to lead some of the youth in our groups through the prayer of Salvation!
Additionally, on Christmas, in the afternoon/evening we helped out with a city-wide Christmas production where we passed out flyers, fitted Children with new shoes, played basketball with the youth, sang songs on stage, and David even dressed up Bob-the-Builder-esk and was a company’s mascot for the night!
Throughout the rest of the month we went to a vocational college a couple of times to put on drama presentations and become friends with the youth there. I loved it. The first time we went was a Christmas production and the second time we went was because we were asked to come back!
We went to an elementary school to put on a production and then to an engineering college to evangelize!
We also went to a preschool’s children’s Christmas production and lo-and-behold we ended up performing the Church Clap—one of our main forms of ministry for the month—on stage to open up the celebration!
Last, but certainly not least, we helped out with a church’s welcome celebration/birthday party… and as you probably guessed, we performed as well. Although, we also did prep work too. 🙂
Bye Thailand, I loved absolutely everything about you! (This picture is Melissa walking across Friendship Bridge—the bridge connecting Thailand and Myanmar.)
