My oh my… Oh how time flies!

That is the thought that ran through my head one evening last week after I worked and came home, knowing that I should be working on stuff for the world race–specifically fundraising–but really only wanting to go to bed. Well lo and behold sleep won and I went to bed. However, that statement holds extremely true, so here is an update about how life is going prior to leaving for the world race.

  1. I graduated from The University of Toledo about a month ago with a Bachelor’s of Science in Bioengineering with a minor in Entrepreneurship, Family, and Small Business as well as a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering. This, thus far in my life, has been one of my proudest days. I spend six years persevering through life while juggling engineering school and I am happy to say I have successfully made it through and am a better, more refined person because of it.

  1. The day after graduation, one of my roommates knew how much going on the world race means to me and knew that I was getting close to my first deadline of $5000 and had not quite raised the funds to meet my goal–so he threw a last minute graduation party/fundraiser dinner for us/me with the help of my mother! I am so grateful for your friendship and support since we met back in the computer lab going on two years now. Jake, you have become one of my closest friends and I wish you the best and thank you so much for helping me make my dream of missions into a reality.

Additionally, I want to thank everyone who came out to the party/fundraiser and donated, it would not have been as much of a success without everyone and I am happy to say that I say that I reached my first goal of $5000–read below for information about my second goal of $10,000 that is coming up quickly

  1. My birthday is coming up this week! I will be turning 24 this year and and I absolutely cannot wait to see what God has in store for my life while I am overseas as well as preparing to go.

  2. Training camp is less than one week away! Again; my oh my, oh how time flies. Up until this point I have known that I will be going on the world race in just a few months; however, I have not fully comprehended it. And, I do not believe I will fully comprehend it until I begin to pack for training camp. I will be leaving in less than a week for training camp in which I will be spending 10 days around the Atlanta, GA area meeting all of my squadmates as well as being prepared for God’s journey and getting a feel for what the world race will be like and what I will be getting myself into for the quickly approaching 11 month journey that I will be going on in order to help spread God’s gospel to all of the corners of the Earth. You can most certainly plan on another blog post after training camp talking about it.

  3. My next fundraising deadline is fast approaching–coming up on July 18, 2017 I will need to have $10,000 raised in order to continue my pursuit of being able go on the world race. This means that, as of the day I am posting this blog, I need to be able to raise $4831 in roughly 6 weeks. As impossible as this sounds, I firmly believe that God wants me to go to these countries and minister His word to the lost and hurting; therefore, I am praying and believing in faith that God will provide for me and my financial goals in order to be able to do work to glorify His name and purpose for all Christian’s lives–the great commission, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

I will also be putting together some fundraisers that will have more details to come as they get straightened out and finalized. In the meantime, I want to thank everyone that has already donated to my mission trip, I am in the process of mailing out thank you cards so within the next week you can expect a card in your mailbox. 🙂 Additionally, if someone is reading this blog who has not donated to my mission trip, I am asking you to prayerfully consider donating to my funds in order to further spread the gospel.
