Have you ever prayed to see an angel in person?
This month our team each made lists of specific things we
wanted to see God do. It was amazing to
look over that list every few days, pray them again and keep marking stuff off
cause God had answered so many requests!!
One of mine was to see an Angel in person. I figured, Jesus
created the universe so why not ask him to let me see an angel! J
Now in my head I was picturing something
crazy cool happening and a person helps us then disappears…so we would know it
was just a “normal” person but someone God sent.
Well she didn’t actually disappear but she was definitely an
angel. Her name was Iboya. She is a single mother of 2 beautiful kids and
became our Hungarian sister in Romania.
She lived in our small Hungarian village in Romania and one
day we were making tacos and couldn’t find or buy lettuce anywhere. On the way
out from the store she asked what we needed, and we told her. She then proceeds to take us to her home,
gives us 5 heads of lettuce, carrots, onions, spices, and all for free!! (an answer to our prayers)
Then she offers to give us a free chicken, but then invites
us to eat a feast at her home instead. We chose the feast!
Our team was over
budget this month because of how expensive Europe is so we had been praying for
free meals, and a home to get to know in the village we lived. Well God
answered both of those through our Hungarian Angel!
She invited us the first time and then again and again and
again! She probably served us over 5 meals in our last week!
She always told us, “If you need anything come and ask, what
I have I give, but what I don’t I have can’t give.”
Wow…is that how I live my life?
Do we give like that??
Thank you Lord for our Angel, who turned into a sister,
friend, and is a stinkin good cook!! She was a testimony of what it meant to give and
welcome in strangers.
I challenge you to start praying specific and write it down…then
see our gracious Jesus answer!
