have you ever loved a prostitute?

Our ministry this month is working with prostitutes on the street of Petong. Bangla Road is the center of Petong, to give you a little perspective of what type of environment Petong is…Bangla Road is about 1/4 mile long but has over 200 bars, and filled with over 1,000 prostitutes! 

Its hard to even describe in words to be honest, prostitutes everywhere: working in bars and standing on the side walks, lady boys dancing on platforms, and men filled with lust and alcohol…its like the pit of hell. 

These streets need PRAYER! They need the church to plead for their behalf, its a road longing for identity in Christ and desperate for love…

The wonderful and amazing thing happening is that God is sending people to show them love, he is sending dozens of believers into the streets of Bangla. The Light is piercing the darkness! 

So far I have loved ministering here, I have gone out to the bars 3 nights now! I have made multiple connections with prostitutes working at the bars and have truly loved getting to know them and playing games with them. The bars have games like jackpot, and jinga, which help break the ice, and make it easy to ask questions and it not be awkward. 

Its awesome to meet the girls and then come back and see them light up because we returned. They are so desperate to be truly loved and for someone to care. They are miserable and hate their jobs, they long for an opportunity to have another job that pays well. Its hard to find, so they keep working at the bars, because the money is good. 

The nights that my team isn’t out in the bars, we are at our house praying for the teams in the bars. We have our entire squad together this month which means about 40 people in one house! Its a party all the time:) 

Our goal with meeting the girls is to share Christ’s love and to invite them to lunch at the house we are staying. It’s an organization that is targeted toward prostitutes and giving them a new opportunity and a choice. They provide housing and work for women so they don’t have to sell their bodies for money. 

So far I have had lunch with 1 girl, we spent like 4 hours with her, then tonight I met about 6 girls who are interested in lunch and checking out the ministry for a job. Tom we are baking Christmas cookies and 4 girls are planning on coming! God is so good:) 

My team is going to the bars on  Monday, Weds, and Fri nights, we go out at 9pm-11:30pm. Which means its 9am-11:30am Eastern time. We desperately need prayers of physical and spiritual protection! Please be praying specifically during that time, for God’s light to pierce these dark streets and for God’s love to break down walls that only He can. 

Thank you for all you do! No matter how evil it looks on Bangla Road, we must keep in mind 

Victory is happening! God’s light is shining, darkness can’t supress His light!
