World Race month one is complete! It’s honestly flown by, but I also feel like I’ve already been away from home for so long! This month has been full of hard, yet the most rewarding moments. Heres a brief recap of the first month in Guatemala.
Living in constant community
Teaching English when you don’t even know Spanish
Meeting new people on the daily chicken bus rides
Being loved on by our new Guatemalan grandparents
Constantly being encouraged
Seeking to be more like Jesus every single day
Learning the power of complete vulnerability
Finding Joy in every cirumstance
Calling each other higher in everyday life
Falling in love with a new culture
Yes, it’s been hard… but because of that I’ve already grown so much and am not the same person I was when I left home. Thanks Jesus for never leaving me where I’m at, but for taking me to harder and more uncomfortable, yet better and more stretching places.
Here’s to the next eight months of growing to be more like Jesus, loving people in three more countries, building a deeper community, and treasuring every moment sharing his name all over the world.
Psalm 119:89-90 “Your word, LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and It endures.”
God, thank you that your word is the same now and forever. Thank you that you have and always will be faithful no matter what. Thank you that your promises and plans for me are perfect and you know exactly what I need. Thanks for being my comfort on the hard days and thank you for the joy you give me every single day.
