Before going into this week, I prayed that I would have a renewed spirit of joy after the rough week last week. Thankfully, my prayers were answered and this week has been great! Every Thursday, we have teachings in the mornings and then get to live that out at ministry in the afternoon. Usually we go to our villages, but this week was a little different. They told us to pray and ask where the Lord wanted us to go and show his love that afternoon. I prayed about it and he showed me that I was supposed to go to the city near us named Antigua. I joined a group full of people that felt they were being led there also and one of the people on staff here named Miguel joined us. We arrived in the city and prayed for a man sitting on the street and a also an elderly man sitting on a park bench. We then headed a few blocks over and asked the Lord where he wants us to go or who he wants us to pray for. The Lord very clearly told me that I needed to pray for a guy with a limp. I knew what I heard, but honestly I was a little scared of what I heard. We walked around for a few minutes and then saw an elderly man walking with a limp. In my head, I knew that was him. Out loud, I said that I didn’t know if it was him. That was my scared self listening to the lies of Satan, but I’m thankful for the Lord’s grace through that. Miguel said that even if this wasn’t the guy, that didn’t mean we couldn’t pray. Wow, I loved that! We should never be scared to pray for somebody or make excuses on why we shouldn’t pray. So, we went to him and asked him if we could pray for him. His family was with him and they all said that of course we could pray for him! Miguel noticed he had hearing aids and so we had him take them out. He couldn’t hear anything we said unless we screamed really loudly. I began to pray for his hearing to be restored and the rest of our group joined in prayer. After praying the first time, Miguel started talking to him again and he didn’t have to talk as loud. We asked to pray again and after we were done we began speaking very soft to him. Guess what?? He could hear everything we were saying. It was so amazing! We also got the opportunity to pray over his pain in his back and his knees. After praying for the man, his granddaughter mentioned that she got a bad headache right as we were praying. Miguel asked her husband to put his hands on her head and pray healing over her headache. He prayed two times and the second time she opened her eyes with a shocked look on her face. The pain had completely vanished. Miguel explained to us that he had her husband pray for her as a teaching moment. I loved that he did that because it reminded us all that with the holy spirit living in us, we all have the power to be used by him to heal people. God can use anybody in the kingdom, you simply have to be willing to obey. God is with us at all times and heavens army is rooting us on. Yes, these situations may sounds scary or weird, but we’re called to bring glory to God and to share his love with others. We don’t have to be afraid because he’s always speaking to us and through us. He’s always leading us exactly where we need to go!

Thank you Jesus for a new week full of joy and learning more about your character and your heart. Thank you that you already won the battle and because of that we don’t have to fear. Thank you for leading me to specific places and people to share your love for them. Thank you for your endless grace and love. Thank you that you’re the same God who was with me last week in my hurting and who was with me this week in my rejoicing. You’re so very good to me and I love you!

In other news, I am currently $1,620 short of my fundraising goal. I have to have this by January in order to stay on the mission field. If you’d like to donate, you can do it right on this website. Also, all donations are tax deductible. Thank you SO much to everyone who has already supported me financially. I’m so grateful!

All my love, Bethany
