Honduras. Nicaragua. Costa Rica. Panama. Each of you had different lessons, different struggles and very different experiences. Each of you held a little piece of what the Church looks like. I encountered beautiful people in each one of you. People who love the Lord deeply and pursue others like Christ does.

Central America holds a piece of my heart because of the people we met here. Hospitality is a huge thing in this part of the world. I’ve been in so many homes in Central America and got to hang out with families. Some of them don’t have anything to give but their time, which I loved! I love meeting people and hearing their stories, even if I can’t understand what they are saying. Some of the families gave us coffee or food, y’all know I loved both of those! We had so many fruitful conversations about the Lord and His goodness in these times.

Central America also brought hard things. Manual labor is rough, it’s so hot all the time, living in community is tough, and serving people can be tiring! A lot of our serving was either evangelism, house visits, church services, manual labor or kids ministry/child care. I have learned that I can do hard things! The World Race is HARD. but the Lord has been so faithful to teach me so many things in these first three months.

Below is a list of TEN things the Lord taught me through Central America:

  1. Flushing your toilet paper is a luxury.

  1. Running water is a blessing, hot running water is unheard of.

  1. Coke is so refreshing on a hot day especially when its the only cold thing you have to drink.

  1. My value was determined when Jesus died on the cross. Other people can not change this fact.

  1. You can eat rice and beans tons of different ways.

  1. Spanish is a good language to have some knowledge of.

  1. People can be so hard but there is something beautiful in choosing people in spite of when its hard.

  1. To-go boxes are for quitters(Shout out to my Breezy baby).

  1. Coffee gets better the further south you go.

  1. I am not perfect and will never be perfect on this Earth but that’s why it’s such a big deal that God sent Jesus to die on the cross for my sins.

See ya next time, Central America.
