True Unsung Heroes…
Imagine walking into a country with no direct goal, no destination, and no initial direction.
Welcome to Unsung Heroes month, a month where you don’t have a specific host, in fact your job is to find new contact that will serve as hosts for future World Race teams.
I walked into this month in Malaysia unsure of what would happen. I’m usually a person that likes some structure and a plan. Unsung Heroes is not a month that provides that.
The reason this assignment is labeled “Unsung Heroes” is not because we, the racers, are the heroes. We in fact are the ones finding these “Unsung Heroes”: laborers for the Kingdom, people who serve Christ and those around them overseas, who work in or with a ministry that betters the community they live in and around.
At the very beginning of the month, my new team and I began to pray over this month and what we wanted to see the Lord do throughout our time spent in Malaysia.
Needless to say, every single prayer was answered, and answered abundantly.
We found over 5 solid potential future ministry hosts and connected deeply with each one.
We were provided with two different forms of free housing and blessed immensely by how nice the facilities were.
We connected with a church that insanely blessed us time and time again. They gave us free housing, food, great community, and invited us the their church camp for 4 days.
The following video isn’t as detailed as previous videos and doesn’t have as much ministry content as I wish it did, but it gives you a glimpse into what our month was like.
You will see footage of a special needs school we volunteered at, the church camp we attended, a beautiful house we danced for joy in, and the beautiful scenery of this beautiful country.
Enjoy!
