This month has been a month of embracing change and learning to be flexible.

Our lovely squad coach, Matt uses a term that I believe will now forever be apart of my vocabulary.

SEMPER GUMBY: always flexible

When after being at our ministry site for only a week in Albania, when our route suddenly gets changed to Greece to work with the Syrian Refugee Crisis: Semper Gumby.

When you arrive in Greece and you are always prepared to go to work at any given moment, because you could be needed at any time: Semper Gumby.

When you pack up everything last minute because you were instructed to move hotel rooms, then after finishing packing, are told in fact that you didn’t actually need to move rooms anymore: Semper Gumby.

When you and your squad prepare to leave the island to go to your next month and country, but can’t leave because of ferry and transportation strikes, and end up staying to work at the refugee site for one more week: Semper Gumby
Some might get annoyed at constant and sudden change, but you know, I’ve come to love it. In fact, I find joy in it.
Taking things out of my own hands, and handing them over to God to take control can be the hardest, yet most rewarding thing to do in life, especially in life on the Race.

So here I am writing this recap blog on the porch of a beautiful hotel with a gorgeous view of the coast of Lesvos, just being thankful for all the changes The Lord has thrown our way.

I wish I could find the proper words to describe my time here in Lesvos working with these refugees, but I feel like no words could do it justice.
The people I have had the honor of coming into contact with and gotten to know during our time here have impacted me greatly. I have seen things and been apart of things I never imagined I would be apart of. And most of all, I have seen God’s love shown in such HUGE ways.

Being a visual person, I’ve learned that I love being able to collect all the footage and videos I have from each month and putting them together to create a representation of our time at that ministry site.

So, I’ll leave you with this month 2 recap video to give you a glimpse of our time spent in Albania and Greece!
Check it out!
