If you never read another word I write from this trip, read this blog. It’s that important to me.

My team (Ashlie, Nicole, Amy, Susan, Emily) & I have lived with a “family” in Phnom Penh, Cambodia for a few weeks. Just long enough to catch a glimpse of their burdens & their dreams. Just long enough to realize we needed to share their stories with everyone we know. We asked our new brothers & sisters to write letters to you all, asking for prayer.?

Education is a struggle in Cambodia. If you graduate from high school, even if you graduate from college, you most likely will not be able to get a good job.

It doesn’t matter how hard you’ve worked. It doesn’t matter how smart you are.

The government is corrupt & the corruption has taken over the medical/educational/etc systems. If you are poor & have no money for bribery, you cannot get a good job. If you have no connections to government officials, you cannot get a good job.

You may be a 4.0 student, but once you graduate, there is absolutely no guarantee that you will be able to earn enough money to put food on the table.

But the Cambodian men & women I know are strong, courageous & passionate for God. Faced with crazy huge mountains of difficulty, they have not given up. Instead, they sacrifice. They strive for knowledge, hunger for education & dream impossible dreams. They believe God has a future for them & they can’t wait to live it. For I know the plans I have for you, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jer 29:11).

Meet Rock & Poulork. You can read the rest of the letters on my teammates’ blogs below. Be inspired. Be moved. And pray your heart out for Cambodia. God wants to make the impossible, possible.

Poulork

Age: 24

Dear brother and sister,

My name’s Poulork. I have 10 people in my family. My parents are good parents, love them so much. I have one brother and one sister died, but all my other brothers and sisters are married. I want you to pray for them to know God because God is a king of us.

I thank God that give me to know him. Before I know God I obey the statues so I don’t know which God is true. And then when I move my study of Phnom Penh I start to know God true, so know him by the paster teach me Bible and I think that life is start to change and I know I start to believe in God. But my family don’t like to believe in God because they think that God is not good to believe and God can’t help us to believe in kingdom. Sometime when I go home they take me to go to pagoda and worship. I want you to help me to pray to God and pray for my exam for money to support my study at university for my English language. Khmer first for me. I think about God because:

I want prayer for the people of Cambodia to know God a lot.

And for the prime minister to change because he’s not a good man. He’s corrupt.
