So sometimes you meet someone who couldn’t be more different than you, but at the same time, understands your heart in a way that few other people do. That person for me this summer is Madhu Kottagiri, a caring, generous & beautiful Indian woman who loves Jesus & loves people. Madhu’s laugh is the greatest AND she laughs at all my lame jokes. 😉 She loves music, super spicy food, the color black, teddy bears & a hot cup of chai tea.
Madhu is the only woman on staff at Covenant Worship in Hyderabad, India (besides the director, Julie C.), where I’ve been ministering for the past two months. Amazingly, she was the first one in her entire family to accept Christ! Madhu went on to college & graduated with a Master’s in Business – & immediately started job hunting, of course. But soon she realized God was actually asking her to be involved in His ministry fulltime. After a bit of soul-searching, she decided to follow God’s call, leading her to another mission agencies called YWAM for several years & then on to CW.
Madhu is living a radical, out-of-the-box life, especially for an Indian woman. A lot of people here don’t understand why she would want to dedicate her life to ministry instead of just getting a good-paying job & doing a little bit of Christian service on the side.
But just chat with Madhu for a few moments & you will understand. Her heart for God is extraordinary. She’s a leader, a discipler & a visionary. Madhu’s goals are to see young ladies raised up as worship leaders & to start a women-only worship band to reach out to & disciple young women in Hyderabad. She’s already leading a discipleship group now.
As a result of the latest women’s worship school, two & possibly three new teenage girls are coming to CW to work alongside Madhu in ministry! They are young & inexperienced but excited to work with Madhu. She will be discipling them, teaching them music & utilizing their gifts & personalities to continue expanding the ladies’ ministry here.
God is making a lot of women’s dreams come true through Madhu.
But she currently has NO financial support for this next year of ministry.
CW is not in a position financially to guarantee support, so volunteers sign on by faith, trusting that God will provide their needs.
I have felt a burden since my first week here for Madhu to become fully supported for this next year! I have seen her life & her work & I believe she is a worthy investment. I myself will be giving, too! I have to be even a small part of the powerful ministry that she is doing in India in the name of Jesus.
So the numbers . . . CW is praying to be able to support Madhu with 4000 rupees/month, which is 65 USD/month. Her total year’s support is only $780.
If you want to be a part of her ministry, you have two options. You can choose to do a one-time gift through PayPal. (Click here, scroll down & choose “make a paypal donation here”)
Or you can choose to set up automatic monthly payments for a set period of time. (Click here, scroll down to “Sponsorship Options for CW Leaders”)
Whatever you give, you will bless my heart, you will bless Madhu, you will bless Covenant Worship, & you will bless many, many Indian women.
Consider supporting this amazing woman of God. And then go ahead & do it. 🙂
