It's been over a week now since I've been back from training camp, and I'm still trying to process everything that went down there in the woods of Georgia. The words above keep playing on repeat in my head, as I've tried to think of how to best give you a glimpse of what I experienced at camp. The amazing Leah Malone wrote a beautiful blog, 'These World Race people are crazy,' which pretty much sums up training camp. Please check it out! http://leahmalone.theworldrace.org/?filename=these-world-race-people-are-crazy

Here's a few photos of my week my squadmate Denise took:

"The great misconception of life is that we can control it."
After our first night of worship, led by the very talented Jonathon David Hesler, we went on a fire walk, where we chose to lay down our rights and expectations for the World Race, and just be open to what God has in store for us.

One of the best parts of the week was our squad campout. We hiked into the woods with our packs, canoed across a lake, made a makeshift tent from tarps, cooked our dinner over the fire, and started to really open up to each other.

On Friday we finally got to meet our teams! I am so honored to be the team leader for Team Abide 15:5. I know God handpicked each of us to be a family this next year. The World Race strongly believes in showing HONOR to each other. So my main goal will be to honor my teammates, by celebrating who they are, and not necessarily how they act, and by saying 'Amen' to the plans God has for them.

Celebrating after squad wars, even though we lost to the C and D squads. At least we had the coolest mascot, the beloved Eleanor. And if you're wondering who that fashion icon in the sequin jacket in the middle is, that's one of my amazing squad leaders Hannah Olsen, who will be traveling with our squad the first four months, along with Lindsay and Allan. We are so blessed to have the three of them to lead us into the nations!
