While it's true that no day of ministry looks exactly alike, here's a brief glimpse of what our day to day life looks like this month at Zion's Gate here in Honduras.

6:30 a.m.: Wake up and run for about 45 minutes through the countryside. So blessed this month to be staying with our whole squad so I have lots of running buddies!

7:15: Take as fast a shower as I possibly can because the water is so cold. Then I usually have about an hour of quiet time to read, pray and journal.

8:30: Breakfast. Our cook Esperanza, along with Tony's wife make us the best food! We usually have eggs, beans and tortillas for breakfast, and sometimes get avocado and fried plantains for a special treat!

9 a.m. -Noon: Morning ministry off-site. Each week the teams will be rotating, so this week my team is helping at a nearby elementary school teaching English and music classes.

Noon-1:00: Sack lunch: usually ham sandwich, chips and fruit, and then a little time to relax in our tents.

1:00-5:30: This week my team is working on the property at Zion's Gate. Everything from picking up trash to moving rocks, raking and painting. This is also a great time for us to hang out with and disciple the boys who live with Tony. On Monday I was able to help Fernando bake cookies to sell to the squad. Amazing to see this tough little former street kid making chocolate chip cookies.

7:00: Dinner and team time. Each night after dinner we break into teams to do feedback for the day.

8:00: Two nights a week we have squad worship, but other than that we have free time the rest of the night. We usually watch movies, play cards or just sit around talking before retiring to our tents around 11:00.

Wednesdays are our free day–right now I'm writing this from McDonalds. Fridays we go as a squad to IHNFA, which a government program that takes kids off the streets against their will. We go in with music, crafts, games, sports, etc. just to bring a little fun and hope to them. Saturdays we partner with local pastors to go into some of the poorest colonies to lead worship, play soccer and generally just hang out with the kiddos. I'm learning missionaries never go anywhere without guitars, soccer balls, thread for friendship bracelets and nail polish. On Sundays we either have house church or will attend a local church.

All in all I am LOVING ministry and living at Zion's Gate this month. Honduras is a beautiful country filled with beautiful people!
