Merry Christmas everyone! Wishing you all a blessed Christmas and praying you are surrounded by family and friends and good food and the love of our sweet baby Jesus.
My apologies for not blogging in so long. I promise to blog more consistently once I'm on the field. The past six weeks have been pretty crazy! Over Thanksgiving I was able to go to Oregon with my Dad and then back to Kansas to eat turkey with my family for the first time since college. I returned to Philly to pack and wrap up things at work. It was hard saying goodbye to all of my wonderful friends and coworkers! Two weeks ago Caleb flew to Philly to help me drive my car back to Kansas. So thankful I didn't have to go alone and we made quite the roadtrip out of it–making stops in Stowe, Vermont, Niagra Falls, Toronoto, Indianapolis and St. Louis. We were a little bummed there was no snow but still had a great time!

I'm loving every moment of being at home. Soaking up time with my family, holiday parties with old friends, and eating my favorite foods. Somehow I think being spoiled by my mama, seeing my best friends on a regular basis and sleeping in my own bed are going to make it harder to leave in two weeks. Glad I made it home just in time to see my beautiful sister Leslie graduate from Emporia State University. So proud of her!

Here's a quick update on where I stand with pre-race preparations. December 18th came and went and EVERYONE on my squad met the next fundraising deadline so we'll be heading to El Salvador. Thank you, thank you, thank you again to all of my supporters. I am still over $6,000 away from being fully funded though so if you feel like making a special Christmas donation I would be forever grateful.
January 9th I will be flying from KCI to Ft. Lauderdale to meet up with my squadmates. After a few more days of training we officially leave the States on January 13th. My team will be with another team for the first month, working alongside local churches in La Libertad, El Salvador, which is right on the coast.
Can't believe this journey starts in just over two weeks!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
