Hello!
Thank you for taking the time to read and learn more about me! One of my all time favorite things is having deep conversation and learning everyone’s story. We all have one. We are all in a journey that, whether you know it or not, is guided by a Father who deeply loves us. Our story tells others where we have come from and where we are going. It explains those tiny details that make up our quirks and personality then navigates meaningful relationships. So for those of you who don’t know my story, here is a brief introduction.
I grew up in a small Texas town up in the panhandle with my protective older sister and loving parents. I graduated college with my BSN and have worked as a RN in the ER for the last 4 years. I have a 2 nieces and 1 nephew who I absolutely adore. I may be slightly addicted to coffee and sour patch kids. I believe quoting movie lines at the perfect time is an amazing talent I strive for. And honestly, I do not think there is a better animal created by God than the lion, with moose coming in a close second.
My first mission trip was to the Bahamas (rough right?) then in 2012 I went to Kenya. God altered my life. On this trip I first heard about the World Race. Of course I absolutely thought an 11 month journey was crazy talk and dismissed it. Then 3 years later with more mission trips under my belt, a season in life off the straight and narrow path, a rescuing from God, and a renewed desire to follow Him, I am now preparing for this crazy adventure called the World Race April Expedition Route. I will be living out of a backpack and venturing into the 10/40 window of the world to serve and love people unconditionally with Christ at the center.
I’ve learned that when God calls us, it is usually into inconvenience. As I prepare to leave behind my job, family, friends, and comfort zone for a year, I am ready to answer His call. For I know this will be an adventure only He could dream for me.
Thank you for your love, support, and prayers. I’ll be posting blogs about what I’m doing and how God is working. I hope you’ll continue to read and be a part of this journey with me.
With Love,
Bethany
