And so
the adventure begins. As I am typing this I am in the air, on my way
to LA. This past week has been really busy and really great. The
week started with me getting to spend time with my cousin who I
haven’t seen in almost a year; while with family we celebrated
Thanksgiving on Monday (she hasn’t had a family holiday in 2 years
and I won’t be home for it this year:) Then I was spending the rest
of my week getting things done to leave, packing and saying some
goodbyes. I had a few friends drive me to the airport this morning,
after a 2:30am breakfast at Denny’s. Per my request, it was
Christmas, so in the car en route to the airport we sang Christmas
carols; strange in so many ways, yet a fun time.

My
plan for checking-in at the airport was to set my bag down and
swiftly put it in the pack duffel. Ha. Not so much. At least the
lady that was waiting for me was patient and helpful. It is no easy
feat, at least for me, to place a filled backpack in a large duffel
bag. Then I come to find out my bag is 51 pounds; I weighed it at
home but forgot about the duffel. Thankfully I wasn’t charged extra
for that pound; but now I need to figure out what I will not be
taking with me and leave it in LA.

Well,
here’s hoping I get a little sleep on the rest of this flight! Much
love.

 . . .

EDIT:

I’m now in LA and only slept a tad, on and off, for the rest of the flight.
