, sexTuesday,
ten of us World Racers, along with a few “guides,” trekked to the
mountains out our front door, hiked up to the top and camped for the
night.
the
mountains we hiked (we went to the top of the tallest one on the
right)
After
pitching our tents, a handful of the girls hiked the remaining
distance to the top. We sat up there for a while talking and
laughing, while the sun started to set. The view of the city was
amazing and pretty clear that night, unfortunately we could not see
Mt. Everest.

O, Amy D, me and Carmen, walking back from the very top
We
enjoyed our delicious dinner while talking around the fire. That was
some of the best food we ate all month. After talking and worshiping
by the blazing embers we headed to bed, knowing 4 am comes early.
Most of us got up early to watch the sun rise over Kathmandu, Amy
Learn and I enjoyed that beautiful sight from the comfort of the
hammock, while others decided to hike to the top. After snuggling in
the hammock for a while, Amy and I took down our tent, packed our
backpacks and left with Carmen to get home.

and I on the walk back
Even
though it was hard, especially since I had been sick, that hike up
and back down the mountain was worth it. The view of the Kathmandu
Valley and city were gorgeous. Plus, I discovered that two of us
could fit all we needed, including the tent, inside our two
day-packs!
