Here I am…looking forward with great anticipation at the year before me, and pondering with awe and wonder the things the Lord has done in my life. Monuments, memories, and memorials of the greatness of our God must be esteemed, handled, and revered. We are told to remember from where we have come, but not to the neglect of the here and now. We must look at what is before us; bloom where we are planted; and enjoy the journey. Expecting and anticipating what is to come and the plans God has in store for us, holding fast to the promises He has given to us.
In light of this, I would like to share with you how I see the World Race influencing my life, past, present, and future…
The first time I remember hearing of the World Race was about 3 years ago. I was working at a prayer tent in Marfa, Texas, when a young gal in her twenties walked in and struck up a conversation. During the course of which, it was mentioned that she was preparing for a missions trip called the World Race, eleven consecutive one month trips to eleven different countries. As she described this, I thought it sounded intriguing, but was not interested on a personal level. Then, approximately eight months ago, a friend of my family inquired if I had ever considered going on something called the World Race. After the initial question, over the course of the next eight months she inquired 3-4 times about the status of my consideration to participate in the World Race and expressed her family’s desire to support me in this endeavor if I chose to pursue it. After much prayer, consideration, and feeling the Lord’s prompting, I am committed to Route 4 of the World Race launching in early July 2014.
Currently, preparations for the World Race and taking in as much info regarding the details of the Race, are filling up my spare time. One detail I was delighted to discover was the partnering the World Race facilitates between the Racers and established organizations in each country. Therefore, easily doubling our effectiveness to impact lives, living conditions, etc.
I am so excited and look forward with great anticipation to all the marvelous, every day, breathtaking, trying, miraculous, and character-building things in store. Mostly, I am looking forward to witnessing the transformation and restoration of lives forever changed for the glory of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I know this will take place on many fronts, and not only with the people that we with be helping, but also in the hearts and lives of the World Racers as we work side by side and allow the Lord to grow and change us.
I will keep y’all posted on my journey, pending Wifi, on at least a weekly basis. Please keep me, my squad, and the people we will be helping in your prayers. I want to sign off with this admonishment…
Know that you are called to reach out in love to those around you. This call is on every life, and is by far the most important call of all.
