I want to take opportunity to thank the men in my life that boldly exemplify what a man is…a warrior of the cause of Christ, defender of the weak, protector of honor, leader into the depths of Christ, lover of men, servant-leader by example, teacher of righteousness, champion of the life of Christ, and proclaimer of truth.
They shine light in the darkness, and give hope. They follow the example of Christ by living out the calling of Christ, so clearly put forth in Isaiah 61:1b-3, “…the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor… heal the brokenhearted…proclaim liberty to the captives…opening of the prison to those who are bound…proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God…comfort all who mourn…console those who mourn in Zion…give them beauty for ashes…oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
Walking in the promise of Christ, they fulfill John 14:12b, “…he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do…”
They are strong, gentle, honest, truthful, hard-working, and tender-hearted.
They treat me like a princess, open doors, carry my things without ever being asked, work on my car, buy my meal for no reason at all, tell me the truth when I need to hear it, speak words of encouragement, and look out for me when I am clueless.
These men in my life are namely, my father and three brothers. I want to thank you publicly for all you are, exemplify, and do. You bless me beyond words…thank you!
